5:30 P.M. Reception | 6:15 P.M. Program. Tony Karman has been active in Chicago’s civic, business, and cultural communities for nearly forty years. He is currently President / Director of EXPO CHICAGO – The International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, which he founded in 2012. EXPO CHICAGO’s upcoming ninth edition will take place at Chicago’s historic Navy Pier between April 7 – 10, 2022. Chicago has a long tradition of hosting an international art fair, beginning in the early 1980’s. EXPO CHICAGO renewed its place on the international art fair calendar, making a significant impact on Chicago’s local arts community while broadening support and collaborations throughout the region with international programming and initiatives. Karman will discuss the scope and planning for the upcoming ninth edition and will expand on the exposition’s impact on both Chicago’s local arts community and regional cultural ecosystems.
