5:30 P.M. Reception | 6:15 P.M. Program | 7:30 P.M. Dinner. Lela Hersh is the President of Museum and Fine Arts Consulting, LLC. Since 2003, her company has provided personalized and independent art advisory and collections management services to museums and cultural institutions, corporations, foundations, as well as private and corporate collectors. Hersh has been involved in the arts for almost 40 years as an arts advisor and administrator and is a highly respected arts consultant, appraiser, and teacher. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the graduate department of the Arts Administration & Policy program, and an Adjunct Professor at Claremont Graduate University in California in the Center for Business and Management of the Arts Department. Hersh has lectured widely on numerous topics, including art forgery and charitable contributions to museums. She wrote the appraisal chapter of the current edition of Museum Registration Methods. Hersh is also a twenty-year veteran of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, where she served as the Director of Collections and Exhibitions. She will discuss the vital role that art fairs, such as Art Basel/Miami Beach, have played in exposing collectors to current art trends and market realities.
