Micala Gingrich Gaylord: Love Is Memory

April 1, 2023 — May 20, 2023

As a contribution to Wichita’s city-wide events for The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to revitalize the role of reading in American culture, the Ulrich Museum is pleased to present Wichita artist Micala Gingrich Gaylord’s project Love Is Memory. Engaging with local elders, Micala will gather personal items connected with their memories of love and will activate them in the gallery using audio recordings, creating a moving chorus of individual stories.

The Ulrich is grateful for the ongoing support of Ulrich Friends with Benefits members who make the Museum’s exhibitions and programs possible through their UFWB memberships. We also receive funding for general operational support from the City of Wichita and Wichita State University.
