José De Creeft

He began sculpturing at the age of 11 making small Nativity figures to help support his family. In 1905 he moved to Paris and began his first formal art training at the Academie Julien. He came to the United States in 1929 and became a citizen in 1940. Taught at the New School for Social Research and at the Art Students League, both in New York CIty.
