Bare It All - Unframed Stories
Inspired by the Ulrich Museum of Art’s exhibition Bare It All, Unframed Stories invites community members, students, and the Wichita State University campus to gather in a shared space and connect through the power of storytelling. The event will feature personal stories, memories, reflections, and folktales that reveal moments of vulnerability, resilience, transformation, and self-discovery. Hosted by actor and educator Kate Compton, each evening weaves together invited speakers and open-mic participants, balancing curated works with spontaneous voices that rise from the audience. Each storyteller is given 7 minutes to share their tale, which may be humorous, heartfelt, unexpected, or profound. Whether revealing a hidden truth, revisiting a cherished memory, exploring imagination, or simply speaking from the heart, Unframed Stories is a space to be heard, witnessed, and connected through story.
A storytelling workshop offered prior to the event on Tuesday, September 22nd will help participants develop and refine their stories before taking the stage. Please request your participation here:
