In a still from the film Miró, the actor playing the artist sits with his back to us as he looks at a large painting he is working on.

Learn about the life of artist Joan Miró from this 2022 biopic by Oriol Ferrer. This event starts at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, October 8 at the CAC Theater and is presented in partnership with Tallgrass Film Festival. Purchase tickets at the door or in advance at Tallgrassfilm.org.
Joan Miró was born with a future already defined by his stern, authoritarian father. The introverted young man, obsessed with painting, was distressed because of the incomprehension and conservative thinking of his hometown, Barcelona. With hope for his future, he moved to effervescent Paris to pursue his career dreams. This event is presented by the Ulrich Museum of Art in partnership with Tallgrass Film Festival. After the film, join Ulrich Director Vivian Zavataro to check out the largest mosaic by Joan Miró in the US, Les Personnage Oiseau, on the face of the Ulrich Museum!
