Saroj Arab

Saroj Arab was born in Hyderabad, India, and moved to Wichita in January of 1969, first living in the “Wheat Shocker Apartments” that are now the locale for the Engineering School. She graduated with a degree in Teacher Education in 1980, and taught in Wichita’s Public School District 259 for 23 years. Her husband, Dushyant, was an aeronautical engineer with Beech Aircraft/Raytheon for 37 years. Since 2019, she has sponsored the Bus Reimbursement Program, which provides transportation for area school children to visit the Ulrich Museum of Art on the WSU campus as a way to promote art and higher education.
