Pam Bjork

Wanderlust and lure of the unfamiliar had me at an early age. A six-week escapade to Paris to learn French when I was 16 piqued my lifelong curiosity about cultures different than Wichita, where I was born and raised. A few years later, I drove from Kansas to Guatemala to learn to weave from the native women on a back-strap loom. Three months in Europe on $5 a day in 1973 further fueled my love of adventure and new experiences.

My serpentine journey includes a BFA in textile design from Kansas University and an MA and PhD in Cultural Mythology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara.  My career spans 26 years as award-winning restaurateur (Larkspur Restaurant in Old Town, The Broker Restaurant in Denver) with accolades for Business in the Arts and an article in USA Today.

My work has been shown in California, Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas. Solo shows at Reuben Saunders Gallery, The Diver Studio, Harvester Arts, Pacifica Graduate Institute and Larkspur Restaurant. Group shows at Mark Arts, Center for the Arts, Steckline Gallery, Santa Fe Workshops (Santa Fe, NM), Dairy Arts Center (Boulder, CO).

Deep gratitude to the vast village who has made this possible!
