Ms. Lee Starkel received her Bachelor of General Studies degree at Wichita State University in August 1980 and an interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Liberal Studies in December 1981.
Following graduation, Lee worked at Wichita State for 10 years, including administrative and advising positions for the TRIO Student Support Services program and the WSU Alumni Association. In addition, from 1980-2003, she co-coordinated the Women Writing Series, helped establish the WSU Women’s Studies Advisory Board, participated in the creation of the WSU Plaza of Heroines and coordinated fundraising, marketing and communication activities for the Center for Women’s Studies.
From 1990-2017, Lee owned Creative Assistance, providing communications and creative services to a variety of clients in Wichita. From 1999-2017, she worked exclusively for the Medical Society of Sedgwick County, coordinating content and communications for its numerous physician-led affiliates and initiatives.
Lee served on the Ulrich Alliance Board from 2011-17. She was also a member of the Ulrich Advisory Board from 2015-2021, serving as board chair from 2020-21.
