The Ulrich Co-Lab is a visitor-centered curatorial experiment where we encourage our visitors to share their thoughts, feelings, and responses to our permanent collection.
Historically, museums have sought to inform and educate the public by exhibiting artwork through an authoritative voice. However, this approach can be limiting—some perspectives are inevitably left out or silenced while other narratives are amplified. The Ulrich believes we have much to learn from our audiences. Shifting away from a traditional approach, this participatory exhibit allows for an open exchange of ideas that aims to enrich the museum experience for everyone. The goal is to create a feedback loop, revitalize the museum space, and represent a collective identity.
Our Spring exhibitions are made possible by the generosity of Ulrich50 donors, for which the Ulrich is very grateful. We also receive support from the City of Wichita, Wichita State University, and our Ulrich Friends with Benefits members.
