DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: This program has been moved to Tuesday\, June\, 7 | 5:30 P.M. Reception | 6:15 P.M. Program | 7:30 P.M. Dinner. Brooke Kamin Rapaport joined Madison Square Park Conservancy in 2013. She is responsible for the public sculpture program of commissioned work by artists including Diana Al-Hadid\, Tony Cragg\, Abigail DeVille\, Leonardo Drew\, Teresita Fernandéz\, Maya Lin\, Josiah McElheny\, Iván Navarro\, Giuseppe Penone\, Martin Puryear\, and Krzysztof Wodiczko. She is the founder of Public Art Consortium\, a national initiative of museum\, public art\, and sculpture park colleagues launched in 2017. She was an assistant and associate curator of contemporary art at the Brooklyn Museum. As guest curator at The Jewish Museum in New York\, she organized Houdini: Art and Magic\, on the life and enduring significance of Harry Houdini (2010). Rapaport also served as guest curator at The Jewish Museum for The Sculpture of Louise Nevelson: Constructing a Legend\, a 2007 survey exhibition. She is a contributing editor at Sculpture magazine. Rapaport will share her experiences as Commissioner and Curator of the United States Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale with the exhibition Martin Puryear: Liberty / Libertà.
