Michael Prior, Wichita State’s 2024-25 visiting emerging poet, will be in residence at WSU March 24 through April 18 teaching advanced undergraduates and graduate students in the poetry tutorial. He will give a reading of his work on Tuesday, April 8. Join us for a reception at 5:30 p.m. with the program following at 6 p.m. This free event takes place at the Dr. Sam and Jacque Kouri Collection Study Center at the Ulrich and everyone is welcome at this free event.
Prior's most recent book of poems, "Burning Province" (McClelland & Stewart/Penguin Random House, 2020), won the Canada-Japan Literary Award and the BC & Yukon Book Prizes' Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize. He is also the author of "Model Disciple" (Véhicule Press, 2016), which was named one of the best books of the year by the CBC. Everyone is welcome at this free event.
