Democracy is in!
We scoured the globe, to the very ends of the earth, looking for really
cool stuff. We found the best. This is your one and only opportunity to
see these fabulous works of art. Come and help choose which will become
part of the collection. The NEW ART EVENT is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8
at the museum. It is free and open to the public. In conjunction with
this event will be the opening reception for Clay Nation from 5 to 7 p.m.,
which is also free and open to the public. Music, light hors d'oeuvres
and a cash bar will be available. To make your reservation for

JUST ANNOUNCED:
New Collection Manager Hired
Mark Janzen, who holds
a masters in museum science from Texas Tech University and has served as
the assistant to the curator at the Texas A & M University Art Galleries,
has accepted the position of collection manager. He succeeds Angela Miller,
who has been serving as interim collection manager and also worked
as a graduate assistant in the museum's Collections Department. Mark can

Award Winners Announced
Congratulations to the
following Shockers who received merit awards Saturday night during the WSU
Alumni Exhibition Awards Program held at the Wichita Country Club. The
winners are:
· Rick Stinson, Governor's Award (silver tray from Barrier's Jewelers) for Shocker Star
· Patrick Duegaw, $500 cash prize for Interior With Marlin
· Jim Gross, $500 cash prize for Building Section II
· David Hiltner, $250 cash prize for Platter
